PHI 100 Introduction to Philosophy (3 cr.) Presents an introduction to philosophical problems and perspectives with emphasis on systematic questioning of basic assumptions about meaning, knowledge, reality, and values. Lecture 3 hours per week.

This course combines real-time instruction (days/times established) using Zoom (desktop web-conferencing software) and online instruction (using Canvas). Students who enroll in this course should contact Distance Ed at 434.832.7745 with any questions. Students may be required to supply their ear buds with webcam or headset/mic to participate in this class. Class sessions are recorded and with proper equipment and training, students may connect from off campus or in 3209. This is an OER course, which means there are no textbook costs for this course. Students will use electronic materials but may have the option of purchasing printed textbooks. Students will need regular and reliable internet access in order to access the electronic resources.
